Miami Weekend Planner: 9 Event Ideas, Verified Details and a Few Time Fixes — September 4–6, 2026

Miami has plenty going on September 4–6, but a useful weekend plan needs more than a list of event names. I checked the current organizer, venue and public event pages behind nine ideas and found a few important time corrections worth knowing before you head out.

The biggest takeaway: several events are solid planning anchors, while a few still deserve a same-day check. Here’s the version I would use to build the weekend.

Quick weekend rule: confirm the time, venue, ticket or RSVP requirement, and organizer before you leave.

Friday, September 4: four ideas, including one important time correction

Meditative Painting with Watercolors — Westchester

Miami-Dade Public Library System currently lists this session for 11:30 AM–12:30 PM at the Westchester Library Health and Wellness Information Center, 9445 Coral Way. That is later than the early-morning time shown in the initial roundup. The library also lists it for adults 19+ with registration required, and the current event page shows the session as full.

Miami End of Summer Family Fun, Food Truck, Music & Vendor Festival — Bayfront Park

This one can anchor more than Friday. The current event listing places the festival at Bayfront Park, 301 Biscayne Boulevard, and lists it from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM Friday through Sunday. Expect a family-focused mix of food trucks, live music and vendors; check the ticket page before leaving for any current entry details.

Current source: Eventbrite event listing.

Café, Cigars & Culture: A Friday Little Havana Walking Experience

The event roundup places this experience at 1568 Southwest 7th Street with a 3:00 PM start. I did not find a current authoritative organizer page that I would use to override or independently confirm those details, so this is a check-before-you-go option rather than one I would build the day around without confirmation.

Free Friday Drum Jam

Culture Shock Miami’s current event index lists the Free Friday Drum Jam for Friday at 7:00 PM and identifies it as free. Because event pages can change, I would still open the current listing before heading over.

Saturday, September 5: family options plus two schedule checks

Dolphin Mall Cars & Coffee — verify the start time

The roundup shows an unusually early 4:00 AM time at Dolphin Mall. Current car-event directories point to an 8:00–11:00 AM window instead, but I did not find a strong organizer-controlled page that settles the discrepancy. If this is your pick, confirm with the organizer before making the drive.

Scavenger Hunt Adventure — Westchester Regional Library

The Miami-Dade Public Library System currently lists this children’s scavenger hunt for 9:30 AM–6:00 PM at Westchester Regional Library, 9445 Coral Way. The library lists it for ages 3–12, so the official schedule is much more useful than the early-morning time shown in the roundup.

Reduced admission days — Deering Estate

Miami-Dade’s official notice confirms reduced admission at Deering Estate for September 5–7 from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. Admission is listed at $8 per person age 4 and older, with free admission for Deering Estate Foundation members and children 3 and under. A guided museum tour is listed for 11:30 AM.

Current source: Miami-Dade County.

KUSTFYR Lantern Craft — IKEA Miami

IKEA Miami’s current local page confirms the KUSTFYR Lantern Craft as a local IKEA Family activity at the Miami store, 1801 Northwest 117th Avenue. The current page did not give me a reliable enough date-and-time readback to treat the roundup’s 2:00 PM time as final, so confirm the local-events listing before you go.

Current source: IKEA Miami.

Sunday, September 6: the car meetup needs one more check

South Florida Cars and Coffee — Miami International Mall

The roundup shows 4:00 AM at Miami International Mall, 1455 Northwest 107th Avenue. Other public car-event listings point to an 8:00–11:00 AM window, while another current South Florida car-show calendar points to a later September occurrence at the same mall. That conflict is enough for me to put this in the confirm-before-driving category rather than publish one time as certain.

The simplest way I’d build the weekend

  • Strong planning anchors: the Bayfront Park family festival, Westchester scavenger hunt, Deering Estate reduced admission, and the Friday Drum Jam.

  • Plan around the official 11:30 AM watercolors time only if you already have registration; the library currently shows that session as full.

  • Double-check the Little Havana walking experience, both Cars & Coffee listings, and IKEA’s exact craft time before leaving.

  • If an organizer or venue page disagrees with a roundup, use the current organizer or venue information.

If the weekend gets you thinking about a neighborhood

If you’re exploring Miami-Dade this weekend and a neighborhood gets you thinking about a move, a rental, or what homes nearby are actually doing, I’m happy to help you sort through it without the sales pressure.
