Start with the person
Not the property. Not the loan. Not the dashboard. The person.
I did not start in real estate because I had a lifelong dream of writing offers, chasing signatures, or explaining why an online estimate is not the same thing as a real market analysis.
I am a Miami native from a Cuban family. I earned a degree in Management Information Systems and spent about ten years working in process automation for a Miami technology company. Then I followed my wife, Lianet, into real estate because I wanted a change, our children were small, and time mattered more to me than staying comfortable. A few people thought I was crazy. Some days, I agreed with them.
The transition was not smooth. I struggled at the beginning, and I still have days when the business feels harder than it should. My honest feeling about the market at times is not very polished: it sucks. Deals take longer. People are nervous. Technology creates more noise than clarity. Everyone is being told to follow up more, post more, call more, automate more, and somehow still make the experience feel personal.
That pressure is what forced me to look at the business differently.
Most real estate systems are built around transactions. A person enters as a lead, moves through a few stages, becomes a client if everything goes well, and eventually gets marked closed, lost, inactive, or archived. The board looks organized. The relationship often does not.
The person who rented from you three years ago may be ready to buy. The buyer may become a seller. The seller may need financing for the next home. A landlord may become an investor. A borrower may need help when the loan no longer fits. A cooperating agent, title representative, insurance professional, or property manager may become a trusted referral partner.
None of those people stopped existing because one file closed.
The transaction was only a chapter.

Suggested team message
I wanted to share a free practical book that may help us think differently about follow-up, transaction control, and the relationships that continue after closing.
Real Estate Lifers, by Chris Manzano, is built around a simple idea: the transaction is one chapter, while the relationship is the whole story. It covers permanent client records, visible next steps, post-close service, responsible automation, mortgage monitoring, and repeat and referral business without generic pressure.
